BiC History

  • How did BiC get it's start?

    A Guild is born:

Born in Chaos, also known as BiC, was created in 2002 as a champ spawn guild in Ultima Online. Originally named Benevolent Insurgency of Chesapeake, I created the guild as a way for my husband, Jay,  to enjoy the pvp and pve that champ spawn guilds offered.

Within a few short months of it's inception, BiC became the largest guild on the Chesapeake server. During our time in Ultima Online we held the spot for the largest guild on our server, and the 5th largest guild in the entire game. Jay and I were both extremely active in the devolopers community in UO and attended many UO Dev Meet UPs and meet and greets in the local Austin area. In 2004, we left Ultima Online and BiC moved over to World of Warcraft.

    A new entity:

Once in WOW, BiC decided a name change was in order, and so we officially changed our name to Born in Chaos. The game was a bit different from what we were accustomed to, but we were successful in WOW nonetheless. Our pace was our own, and while we were not on par with some of the Uber guilds in WOW, we still successfully completed content and plowed through instances in our own time and speed. Jay and I decided to leave World of Warcraft in September of 2007. WOW BiC officially broke from us, changed their name to Nevermore and became their own entity. (http://www.nevermoreguild.org)

    Moving on:

In September of 2007, Jay and I moved over to beta test Tabula Rasa. A few very trusted members quietly left WOW and moved over to TR in order to be with BiC. Sadly, our time in Tabula Rasa was short, as the game was unfinished, unpolished and left many of our members standing around wondering what the hell they were supposed to do in the game. By January of 2008, most of BiC had stopped playing TR and moved again.

Around mid January of 2008, BiC branched out into many guilds under the BiC Gaming banner. BiC was in Guild Wars, Tabula Rasa, Everquest 2, and City of Heros. I found that because I could not play in every game, I was losing some of the closeness that makes BiC what it is. Spreading us out was not conducive to BiC, so I brought us all back together for AoC, and disbanded all the other branches of BiC.

BiC's new home was now the  Deathwhisper server of Age of Conan. We were back to the PvP that we loved, and had a VERY solid team of core members. We were working on our Tier 3 building in our city and had several members already at endgame and several more ALMOST there.  However, the same issues arose that we had in TR,  when our members hit end game and found themselves saying, "OK, now what??"

    A return to WoW:

Today,  BiC has returned to World of Warcraft and is playing on The Underbog server (Horde faction of course).

  • What games has BiC been a part of?

    • Ultima Online
    • Star Wars Galaxies
    • Age of Conan
    • Guild Wars
    • Tabula Rasa
    • Everquest 2
    • Warhammer

BiC Party

  • What is BiC Party?
BiC Party is an IRL event held once a year for any and all guildmembers who are 21 and up.  The party is held during the summer months, and with all members flying in Friday and departing Monday.
  • Where is BiC Party held?
BiC party is always held in Nat's home in Austin, Texas.

One of the cool things about the party is that you don't have to get a hotel or worry about driving!
  • Why is there a buy-in for BiC Party?
Yes, there is a 75.00 buy-in per person.

Originally, BiC Party was free to anyone who wanted to attend. However, the onslaught of 15-20 people in my home for 4 consecutive days meant I was blowing a few thousand dollars each year on food alone.

Your buy in will pay for 9 homecooked meals (ask a BiC'er about Nat's Chicken Fried Steak and see what they say) as well as Tshirts or whatever other paraphenalia I dish out at the party.

Each BiC'er is responsible for purchasing their OWN liquor on a NAT APPROVED LIQUOR RUN.

BiC Raiding

  • What is BiC's raid schedule?
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday:  7pm-10pm server.

    Sundays: 4:30pm-7:30pm server.
  • What loot system do you use?
Here at BiC, we use the best loot system on the face of the planet. It's called "Common Sense".  We /roll for gear that is for our class.  Our Class Leaders ensure that proper upgrades go to the correct people. Often we find that some of our members will pass on gear they've rolled on and won, because the upgrade is higher for another member.

We do not use a council of ghey, or DKP, but we also do not have loot drama.
